Parenting is all about the little moments. Those are the things that add up. Your answers to their tiny questions, your little traditions, the music you play them on the way to school. These are the things that they'll remember. So why do we stress the big stuff, like holidays, birthdays, and family trips? Why break the bank taking them to Disney at 5 years old, knowing that they won't likely remember any of it when they're grown up? Because that stuff is more for parents. It makes us feel like we're contributing something. It gives us stuff to hold onto as they hit all the milestones. Plus, it helps us develop relationships with our kids, which is the most important thing. 

But in order to have those, we need to have good relationships with ourselves. And time alone can really help that. I never feel more like myself than when I'm staring at the wall doing nothing. It's an opportunity to reset. But during some of that alone time, you may want some virtual company. How about tweets that know exactly what you're going through?
